    50 / 50

That's how I felt about the Super Bowl, and that's how I feel about the end result.

Being a Packer fan, I have a natural dislike of the Chicago Bears. If the Packers win only two games of the sixteen they're scheduled for, and they're against the Bears, I'd call it a successful season.

That said, the Packers and the Bears are in the same Division, so even though there's the rivalry, there's a mutual respect for the team once they reach the playoffs, since rarely do two teams from the North go at the same time. Therefore, I'd have liked to see the Bears win not only because it would signify the as-of-late weak NFC doing well, but the NFC North Division, called the Black-and-Blue division because of the fierceness of the Division games, often seen as a lower-echelon division, winning the Super Bowl would have been all-too-sweet.

Lovey Smith is a good guy, the Anti-Ditka. Soft-spoken in Chicago? He makes it work.

Also, I know a whole shit-ton of Bears fans, and maybe if they'd won this one they'd shut the hell up about the '85 Bears for once. Fat chance, really, but one can hope.

    That's one side.

There is a tiny part of me that says "Fuck the Bears! If the Packers can't have it, the Bears sure as shit can't have it!" That part is tiny, though, because that's just silly, irrational, and unfriendly, especially while I live in the Chicago area.

While that part contributed a miniscule amount to my general "meh" about the game, the extreme like-itude of Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy, and Marvin Harrison made up most of the rest. Who doesn't love these guys? They're overly nice, extremely talented at what they do, and not cocky in the slightest.

Have you seen Manning's various commercials? They're excellent! MasterCard makes good use of his likeability and humor. So did Sprint. And he's getting up there in years, so if there ever was a time for him, now was it.

You don't hear from Marvin Harrison because he doesn't screw around, he just plays the game, plays it well, and doesn't raise ire in anyone.

And Tony Dungy, a quiet, wise man. Leads by inspiring his team instead of by intimidating them. Very gentlemanly.

Being 50 / 50 for the Super Bowl was different, since I usually have strong feelings one way or the other. But, in the end, I am glad with how it turned out. Even though the Bears lost, and half of me is sad, Chicago can see that Grossman isn't what they thought. But, still, there'll be those that say that it was "Just an off game. We'll get it next year." Yeah, well, Favre is coming back, and noone thought we'd go  8-8, so who knows what'll happen?

  • Harumph harumph harumph.

Clinton entered the list of those seeking the presidency today.

This got me thinking: when one gets the nomination, (almost certain, given their support bases) will they take the other as their running mate?

This would be a good move for Hillary, would wrangle up the Obama voters to her cause.

However, given the fact that Ms. Clinton is slightly insane, and I'm guessing is probably soulless, Barack had better distance himself from her if he gets the nod: she'd whack him the first chance she got if she was VP.
